The operations partner for owner-led small businesses.#
I run the back office so you can run the business.#
Twenty years inside small businesses. Four run hands-on: a competitive dance studio with 1,000+ students and a 4-day, 4-show annual production; an IIROC-licensed financial practice (Dollar Divas); a multi-property rental company (Zesty Properties); and a gluten-free bakery (BSis Creations). Dozens more seen from the inside through temp work over the years, every back office, every mess, every “how do other owners actually do this.”
Different industries, same job underneath: licensing, bookings, vendors, staff, books, and the hundred moving parts owners never have time for. And most of these businesses ran on deadlines that don’t move: show nights, competition entries, market mornings, tax filings, closing dates. I bring the best practices from the dozens I’ve seen, and the get-’er-done grit from the ones I’ve run.
No frameworks. No decks. No consultant theatre. I take the work off your plate.
Economics BA (honors, top 10%). IIROC-licensed. Rigor under the grit.
Experience#
General Manager, BSis Creations | Gluten-Free Bakery | 2024 to Present
Sells extensively at local farmers markets with consistent year-over-year revenue and profit growth; expanded into ecommerce as a second channel. Owns recipe development, commercial kitchen production, food-safety compliance, and direct-to-consumer sales.
General Manager, Zesty Properties | Victoria, BC | 2020 to Present
Rental property business managing multiple properties. Led multiple renovations including a $200K down-to-studs reno of a 6-bedroom, 2-bathroom home, directly coordinating all trades. Scaled one property as Airbnb to Superhost status (Airbnb’s top-tier host recognition: 4.8+ star rating, 90%+ response rate, under 1% cancellation rate, 10+ stays per year minimum), then pivoted the portfolio to long-term rentals under the BC Residential Tenancy Act.
Career Break, Family | 2017 to 2020
Full-time parenting.
Financial Planner, Dollar Divas | Freedom 55 Financial then Edward Jones | 2011 to 2017
IIROC-licensed financial planner operating a personal practice under the Dollar Divas brand across two major Canadian firms. Advised individuals and business owners on investments, insurance, retirement, and succession planning. Built and ran a full book of business end-to-end: prospecting, discovery, plan design, implementation, and ongoing review. Worked across both retail and small-business segments.
Manager, Spiral Dance Co | White Rock, BC | 2005 to 2009
Competitive dance studio with 1,000+ students and 8+ faculty. Ran registration, scheduling, staffing, billing, and parent communications. Owned costumes end-to-end, competition logistics (travel, entries, adjudication), and the annual year-end production: four distinct shows over four consecutive days in a 1,000+ seat professional theatre.
Interim Operations Assignments#
Dozens of small businesses across retail, professional services, trades, and hospitality, covering back-office, admin, and ops roles. Every placement was a live tour of another owner’s system: what works, what quietly breaks, what the owner has stopped noticing. That exposure is the raw material behind the playbook, and the reason a new business rarely surprises me.
Education#
BA, Economics | University of British Columbia then University of Victoria (transferred mid-degree, graduated from UVic) | 2007 to 2011
Graduated with honors, top 10% of class.
